Love it or Leave it: Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer

Hey guys! Yesterday I glanced at my makeup collection, saw my four Burt's Bees lip shimmers and was hit with the need to to a love it or leave it for them! It's funny, for me these are one of those annoying products where for whatever reason I rarely wear them, but then when I do I wonder why I don't wear them more!

At the moment I own four of the Burts Bee's Lip Shimmers- clockwise from the top left, these are Radiance, Champagne, Watermelon and Rhubarb. The packaging calls these "The World's Best Lip Balm in Sheer Luminescent Color," so it really seems to me like these were a precursor to their current tinted lip balms, which I haven't tried yet. Like that slogan implies, these are very reminiscent of their classic lip balm with a similar minty scent and flavor- it does contain peppermint oil, so if you're sensitive to that I'd steer clear. Burts Bee's is sold all over the place, but if you go through their website you can get the Lip Shimmers here for $5 and the Radiance Lip Shimmer here, also for $5.

First, I'll start with some swatches before I get to my final verdict =)

Radiance, Champagne
Rhubarb, Watermelon

Here are the four shades! There is NOT a big difference between the Radiance Lip Shimmer and the one in Champagne. Rhubarb, on the other hand, is sort of a brightish berry pink-red while Watermelon is a more subdued berry pink.

Radiance Lip Shimmer on the left, Champagne on the right. These are pretty frosty, but I still like them in conjunction with other products.

Rhubarb with no flash on the left and with flash on the right.

Watermelon with no flash on the left and with flash on the right. This is a more subdued color that Rhubarb.

All in all, I'm a big fan of these and I bet if you like Burt's Bees lip balm you'd like them too! They have very much the same smell and feel on your lips- moisturizing with a bit of a tingle because of the peppermint oil. They're also a great price, are pigmented and come in a decent variety of shades. When my makeup buying ban is over I'll pick up a Burts Bees Tinted Lip Balm and do a comparison =)

Have you guys tried these before?
